“Good. Don’t.” he chuckled, turning his head to catch him in a kiss. Sure things were going fast, but Clint was happy, Eames made him happy and that’s all he really cared about. Well that and Eames’ happiness because he would be an ass not to. The words made his heart flutter and he grinned wider, “I’m pretty sure that day is right around the corner for me.” he admitted quietly, his cheeks turning a light pink. “And don’t be scared. I won’t hurt you. I could never.”
“S'not you hurting me that I’m afraid of,” he told Clint in between their kisses. Eames was more afraid of himself, of hurting the archer, of his own life coming back to take this bit of happiness from him. “I know you won’t. Just like I won’t ever hurt you. Least not on purpose.” All of this had moved faster than he’d anticipated and he couldn’t make preparations for the inevitable - for the day his life came and took his happiness from him. “I can’t say the same for the life I’ve lead. Doesn’t change the fact I am done fighting what I feel for you. You have managed the impossible, darling.”
