“First time working a full shift after eight hours of class and workshop time. I have tomorrow off from class, at least. I’d be worried about falling asleep but my feet hurt too much for that.”

[ She took a grateful sip. ] “Sorry. I’m being a horrible whiner.”

“Christ. Sounds like quite the workload you’ve got. Though sounds a bit like the rest of this lot. And I tell you what – you get used t'being on your feel. Just make certain you’ve got good shoes. Otherwise you’ll be wishing you had by the time you make it home from this place.”

[He offers up a smile, remembering what it was like the first few weeks he started on the job.]

“S'a'right. Trust me I deal with much worse outside the door. This is nothing.”
